Russell Hunter (Pink Fairies) RIP

Since there doesn't appear to be a thread for this, I'll break the sad news - Russell Hunter, drummer for The Pink Fairies and The Deviants died in Eastbourne Hospital on 19th December. He was admitted the day before with breathing difficulties.

That's all the Fairies who played on "Kings of Oblivion" are no longer with us. Sad times.

 

Great drummer. Great band. Sad news. R.I.P.

 

RIP.
I saw the Fairies in 1976.
They came on about 2 hours late.
Russell was literally carried to the stage and dumped on his drum stool.
He drank gallons of water, or at least I assume it was water….
Faultless show though.

 

Aw man, that's terrible. One of my fave bands.

 

One of my favourite groups of all time too. Russell was in nearly all the line-ups. RIP.

Sad to see news of his passing. I really liked his drumming on the Pink Fairies records.
